Do you find yourself feeling thirsty a lot? It could simply mean that your body is running low on water and needs to be refilled. However, if you are you having to refill your water glass constantly throughout the day, then it could be a sign of some type of health problem. Here are some reasons why you may be feeling thirsty.
Dehydration – When your body is dehydrated it can sometimes make it difficult for you to accomplish certain tasks. Being dehydrated can be the result of excessive amount of sweating, vomiting, diarrhea or even exercise.
Diabetes – When you aren’t able to satisfy your thirst while drinking water it could be a possible sign of having diabetes. If you have blurred vision, feel tired or hungry often or even if you have cuts or bruises that take time to heal all in addition to being thirsty, then they could also be signs of diabetes.
Dry Mouth – If you’re thirsty and feel a sense of dryness in your mouth it’s because the glands in your mouth aren’t producing enough saliva. This might not just occur if you’re thirsty but it could also be a result from taking prescription medications, smoking, nerve damage in your neck or head or even from certain types of cancer.
Anemia – At times having anemia can cause you to want to drink more water than usual. In addition to craving water, other signs of anemia could be dizziness, a sense of feeling weak, pale looking skin, or sweating.
As we all know, water is the absolute best for us! Drinking water is the healthiest thing we can do for our bodies but if you find yourself drinking excessive amounts of water or craving to drink water constantly then it could be a sign of some health problem, some of which we mentioned above.
