Everyone wants to be able to smile and show off their teeth but if we don’t have pearly white teeth then we might hesitate to smile. Going for teeth whitening is always the best way to go but there are some other small things you can do to keep those teeth white or at least make them appear somewhat whiter.
Once you’ve had your teeth whitened, you still want to make sure that you maintain those whitened teeth so here are some ideas for you.
-Make sure that you brush your teeth after you eat if possible because many of the foods and beverages we consume can harm and stain our teeth.
-Using a straw can help protect your teeth from acids and sugary beverages. By using a straw, your teeth stay protected from having enamel buildup on the teeth.
-Eating strawberries can help prevent your teeth from becoming yellow because they help break down plaque. Not only can strawberries help prevent stained teeth but they are also high in Vitamin C, which is a great health benefit.
-If you don’t already floss, you might want to consider starting. You can talk to your dentist about how to floss so she/he can show you the proper way. Flossing will not whiten your teeth but by flossing, it keeps your teeth from plaque buildup which helps to prevent cavities and teeth becoming yellow.
-Lastly, the most important thing you can do to keep your teeth white is simply just by taking care of your teeth. Make sure you are drinking water, eating healthy, brushing after meals, and of course visiting your dentist regularly.
If you follow all the above mentioned, then you should be able to maintain your white teeth. Don’t forget to make an appointment with your dentist if you are considering teeth whitening! Keep smiling!
